Business Travel to Atlanta
I had the opportunity to host the Live Podcast Tour August 23rd in Atlanta Georgia at the Midtown Collective. I decided to kick off the tour in Atlanta for a couple of reasons, one I had a speaking engagement the following day and I always want to make the most of my trips. The second being I started watching , following and researching Atlanta Podcasters and let me just say this about Atlanta podcasters… they are some pretty dope people.
They came out supported and networked on another level.
Let me give you a little back story on this tour stop. I had never been to Atlanta before the tour, I really didn’t even know anyone there in the podcasting space for that matter. I planned the tour in (8) weeks and it was 100% self-funded. This was another level of stepping out on faith. I knew that if I wanted to go to another level I had to do some things that other people were not willing to do. I was terrified for a while, almost talked myself right out of it when things seemed to start falling apart, things that I know most entrepreneurs would have been like, “maybe it’s a sign I shouldn’t do this”. Everything in my core was telling me this was the right thing to do. I needed to be my own proof of concept when I started to pitch the idea to future sponsors. It was definitely worth it and I would do it all over again.
One piece of advice that I would like to give you, is….know your tribe. Know and watch the people around you, though they may seem as if they are cheering your on they might be the same ones planning your demise. But stay focused, stay grounded and true to your brand and what you believe in. Hard work really does pay off. You never know what lies ahead but you must be willing to do the work and go all in. Also, always remember that no is going to work harder for you in your business (except me) so don’t expect them to, that way you won’t be disappointed when they don’t come through.
